If a new Recurring Entry was setup with a Cutoff Date of 2/1/2016, it would expire and not be valid after that date. Any attempt to use the Copy Recurring Entries function should not copy it to a transaction.

The Billing tab in the Recurring Entries screen has a Billing Type of Month with the Next Billing Date being 8/1/2015. If you run the Copy Recurring Entries function today (8/3/2015) it will copy the recurring entry and also change the Next Billing Date to 9/1/2015 so it would be ready to get copied on or after that date.
