Product Lines
Use the Product Lines function to categorize your inventory items into groups of similar items. You can sort by product line in many reports and specify the product lines to use when you set up promotional pricing.
Creating a Product Line
- Click the New button, on the toolbar, to open a blank product line record.
- Enter a new product line in the Product Line field. Use a character sequence that identifies the category of items. For example, WIN identifies window types and DRWOODFRM identifies wood-frame doors.
- Enter a description of the new product line in the Description field.
- Click the Save button, on the toolbar, to save the new product line.
Editing a Product Line
- Select a product line to edit from the Product Line field.
- Edit the fields as necessary.
- Click the Save button, on the toolbar, to save any changes made to the sales category.
Deleting a Product Line
- Verify the product line if not being used in any items.
- Select a product line to delete from the Product Line field.
- Click the Delete button, on the toolbar, to delete the selected product line.
- Click Yes at the "Are you sure you want to delete selected record(s)?" prompt.
Produce a Product Line List
- Select the print preview button () to preview the list of product lines.
- The preview report screen appears.
- Select the print button ( ) in the toolbar to print your list.
