Traverse v11.2 Administrator Guide
Traverse Global Server Manager Installation
Traverse uses SQL databases to store data using a separate database for each company. Because Traverse uses Microsoft® SQL Server® as a backend database, you must install Microsoft SQL Server before installing Traverse. Next, follow the steps to install and set up Traverse
If your installation includes a limited number of users, you can save money by using a runtime version of SQL Server, SQL Server Express, instead of Microsoft SQL Server. SQL Server Express is a fully functional database engine. You can download SQL Server Express from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/Products/sql-server-editions/sql-server-express.aspx
For more information on Traverse compatibility with different versions of SQL Server or SQL Server Express, see the Traverse v11 Hardware/Software Guidelines on the OSAS website.
The Traverse
If you require more in-depth management of SQL information or tables, use the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) to interface with the data. It is available free of charge directly from Microsoft.
