Nameplate Lookup

Nameplates, sometimes referred to as data plates, contain specific information for the equipment being repaired. You can define the field names for nameplate data, as well as the possible values for standard fields. You can use nameplates to track equipment through the repair process, and establish and maintain standards and history when job transactions involve equipment such as motors, alternators, hydraulic systems, or other equipment.

Nameplate Lookup codes represent classes of information that appears on nameplates.

When defining a new nameplate, you will use the nameplate lookup code to assign a type of information to assign to a nameplate field. Before you set up nameplate fields, create nameplate lookup codes. These codes offer lists of standard values for nameplate fields. For example, there are standard RPM ratings for electric motors. Create a nameplate lookup code for RPM, and add the standard ratings to the RPM lookup. When you create a Nameplate field of RPM, you can associate the lookup code. Then, when a new job is entered for an electric motor, you can select the motor’s rated RPM from the lookup.

For example, a nameplate lookup code of Volt Lookup would have a number of volt definitions from which a user can select when entering nameplate information.

Creating a Nameplate Lookup Code
