Periodic Maintenance

Use the Periodic Maintenance function to delete current RP data and forecast information, as well as closed blanket orders before the date you specify. Generally, you do not need to delete RP data since new RP data automatically replaces old data when you generate it, but you might want to perform periodic maintenance to delete old data you don't want others to access or to create more space, if needed.

You are not required to perform periodic maintenance exactly at the end of each period since RP does not track activity by period, but tracks by date.

Because this function permanently deletes data from the system, use it with caution. Make a backup of your database prior to running this function.

As you remove periods from your forecasts, the same number of periods are added to the end of your forecasts data although no quantities are created in these periods. Use the Forecasts functions to place quantities into these newly added periods.

Note: If you are using mixed-periods Period Definitions IDs (for example, your period definitions have a combination of a certain number of days, weeks, and months) some rounding may occur as the system attempts to slide those quantities forward.

1. Select the Delete Existing RP Run Data check box if you want to delete data from the last time you ran the Generate RP Data function.
2. Select, if applicable, a specific date for which you want to delete all prior sales forecast information from the Delete Forecasts Prior to field.
3. Select, if applicable, a specific date for which you want to delete all prior blanket sales orders closed from the Delete Blanket Sales Orders Closed Prior to field.
4. Click a command button to

Select	To
OK	Begin the purging process. If a field is left blank, no purging is done on that data.
Activity	Display the Activity Log to view generating activity.
Reset	Set all fields to their default values.
